A New Year of Rambling: Why Walking Together Matters

There’s something about the start of a new year that makes us all pause for breath.

After the rush of Christmas, the darker mornings, and the inevitable “new year, new me” noise, January can feel like a lot. That’s where walking comes in - not as a resolution to stick to, but as a simple, grounding way to reconnect with yourself, with nature, and with other people.

And that’s exactly what Cornish Ramblings is all about.

What Is Cornish Ramblings?

Cornish Ramblings began as a love letter to Cornwall and the outdoors. It’s about slowing down, exploring the coast and countryside at a steady pace, and creating a welcoming space for people who might not otherwise think of themselves as “walkers”.

You don’t need to be super fit.

You don’t need fancy kit.

You don’t need to know anyone already.

You just need to turn up.

Our rambles are relaxed, friendly, and first-and-foremost about enjoyment - the views, the chats, the fresh air, and that feeling of doing something good for yourself without pressure.

The Power of Walking (Especially Together)

Walking is one of the most underrated forms of self-care. It clears your head, eases stress and anxiety, and helps you move your body without punishment or expectation. But walking together adds something extra. There’s comfort in walking side-by-side; conversations flow more easily, silences feel natural, you can turn up exactly as you are - whether you feel chatty, quiet, energised or a bit flat - and know that’s okay.

So many people join a ramble not just for the route, but for the sense of connection. And time and time again, people leave saying how glad they are they came.

Walks Coming Up: January and February Rambles

We’ve got five beautiful Cornish routes lined up to kick off 2026, each offering something different - from dramatic coastline to peaceful inland trails:

🥾 St Agnes Beacon to Wheal Coates: A classic Cornish walk with big views, mining heritage, and fresh sea air.

🥾 Polzeath to St Enodoc Church: Coastal paths, sandy stretches, and one of Cornwall’s most iconic churches.

🥾 Godolphin to Tregonning: A quieter, countryside ramble rich in history and gentle landscapes.

🥾 Sennen Cove to Nanquidno: Rugged cliffs, wild beauty, and that unmistakable far-west magic.

🥾 Widemouth to Bude: A coastal stretch that’s uplifting, expansive, and perfect for clearing the mind.

All walks are pre-bookable on the website and spaces are limited, so it’s always best to book ahead.
